The IOT is a young post-graduate training academy established in 2020 by three Medical Doctors specialized in Osteopathic Medicine or Osteopathy : Elie MALEK, Guillaume LEVAVASSEUR and Michel NGUYEN.

The AIM of IOT is to train our participants who are medical doctors, physiotherapists and osteopaths to have the highest academic training standards in Osteopathic Medicine or Osteopathy and to evolve in this field. The IOT keeps abreast of the latest developments in teaching and training techniques (e-learning) in order to give our participants the most fruitful and complete experience in learning Osteopathic Medicine and Osteopathy.

IOT distinguish itself from other Osteopathic Medicine and Osteopathy training academies worldwide through its scientific curriculum and its Teachers; Certified Osteopathic Medical Doctors with a stronghold experience in the practice and teaching of Osteopathic Medicine or Osteopathy and its applications in divers specialties like Sports Medicine, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Neurology, Rheumatology, Dentistry and Physiotherapy.

We attach considerable importance to Evidence-Based Medicine and Evidence-Based Practice.

The academic material taught at the IOT consists of Osteopathic Medicine or Osteopathy topics that we teach in well-known Osteopathic Medical Schools and Osteopathic Schools worldwide.

The three musquaters physicians constitute the main IOT Team but also well-known osteopathic physicians with a large international experience in teaching Osteopathic Medicine or Osteopathy will participate in its seminars and trainings.

IOT developed its academic curriculum in partnership and under the recognition of the well-known French Academy for Post-Graduate Training for Osteopathic Physicians – “Ostéo-Formations”.

OBJECTIVES AND VALUES

The IOT Academy is a multi-professional body. It is the professional Training Academy, working nationally and internationally, for all those involved in Osteopathic Medical Education and Osteopathic Education – the education and training of students and practitioners in Medicine, Physiotherapy, Dentistry and Physical Therapy.

It aims to provide high level of training and teaching, promote international Osteopathic Medicine and Osteopathy standards and support all those involved in the academic discipline of Osteopathic Medical Education as well as Osteopathic Education.

The work of our osteopathic physician’s educators directly contributes in the training by promoting improvement of health care, the relief of pain and sickness as well as the preservation of a balanced well-being and good health.

Quite simply, our osteopathic medical educators are able to teach the required osteopathic skills and knowledge to medical doctors, osteopaths, physical therapists and dentists, in order for them to become safer, more able and more competent when putting these osteopathic skills into practice.

Through IOT Professional Standards and future objectives that serve as a guide to curriculum development, the Academy provides a recognized framework so that those in training can demonstrate expertise and achievements in Osteopathic Medical Education and Osteopathic Education through future accreditations as an osteopathic educator (medical doctor, dentist, physiotherapist and osteopath) to an agreed national and international standard.

Finally, IOT Academy works on the recognition that the development and improvement of osteopathic training of medical and paramedical practitioners will be to the only benefit of the health of the public and directly of our patients.

Under its Articles of an Osteopathic Medicine and Osteopathy Academy, the objectives for which IOT is established are the advancement of Osteopathic Medical Education and Osteopathic Education for the students (medical, paramedical and osteopaths) benefit in particular by:

  1. The development of a curriculum and qualification system for each category of students (Physician/Osteopath/Physical therapist/Dentist);
  2. Undertaking continuous evaluation and upgrading the curriculum for the continuing development of professional Osteopathic Medical Training and Osteopathic Training;
  3. The promotion and dissemination of the best practice in Osteopathic Medical Training and Education as well as Osteopathic Training and Education;
  4. Collaboration with International Osteopathic Medical Schools, Osteopathic Schools, International Osteopathic Associations, International and National Medical Associations and Societies; and
  5. The validation of its seminars through certificates. This is to validate a continuous training but also to validate seminars that are part of a wider program proposed by IOT or in collaboration with International Osteopathic Medical Universities for Medical Doctors (University Diploma in Osteopathic Medicine), International Osteopathic Schools for Osteopaths (Diploma of Osteopathy) or even validating trainings in the fields of Dentistry, Podiatry and Posturology.

Three

Osteopath graduates from an international recognized School or University.

Two

1. Bachelor Physiotherapists with at least three validated years (documents required) of Practice in Physiotherapy.
2. Physiotherapists with a Master or PHD degree.

All participants must be in good standing with their respective order or association whether they are national or international and must provide documents justifying their place of training, experience and skills. Only Medical Students are exempt, they must present the registration form of their respective university.
